Reviews Overview

Most Liked

The beer garden is a standout feature, perfect for lazy afternoons soaking up the sun. The selection of real ales and ciders appeals to beverage enthusiasts, ensuring a fresh experience each visit. Many rave about the delicious homemade pies and pasties available at the bar, which pair perfectly with the drinks. The friendly staff makes each visit memorable, contributing to a pleasant pub vibe that keeps patrons returning. Sunday roasts have garnered a loyal following, often being recognized as the best in Bristol. For those looking to unwind, the cozy ambiance, punctuated by live music and community events, enhances the experience.

Most Disliked

Some visitors express disappointment over the absence of a full meal menu, as they often encounter only snacks like pies and sausage rolls. Though the garden is beautiful, families with children note the lack of play equipment, which could enhance the experience for younger guests. On busy evenings, securing a table might become a challenge due to its popularity, with locals keen to keep this gem a bit of a secret. The ambiance, while cozy, can sometimes feel close-knit, making it less ideal for those seeking a more spacious dining experience. Overall, while the offerings are robust, there are minor areas for improvement that some guests feel could elevate their visit.

Reluctant to write a review on the basis that more people will go there and it will be harder for me to book a table as I mentioned sunder, but here I am 😂. All jokes aside, THE best roast in Bristol, and I’ve eaten plenty of them to feel qualified enough to give that rating. The land lady is an absolute Vibe and delicious soul and the girls behind the bar are delightful, I’ve never seen the chefs but hats off to them for their culinary skills. The quirkiest setting mixed with traditional open fire, Litterally can’t fault this place. I wish England had more traditional pubs like this remaining and that it was closer to my house. Will be Sunday roasting at every given Sunday opportunity.

One of the most unspoilt pubs I have ever visited. Great ales, local home cooked food and bread. Beer garden and original interiors.

Fantastic freshly baked pizzas and a family friendly garden. Great range or beers and ciders enthusiastically served by the wonderful team. Don't miss it!

I love this traditional British pub, just visited from the campsite opposite. A very warm welcome from the lady behind the bar. Lovely selection of ciders and beers. I wished I lived opposite

What a cool place. I thought I had arrived at someone's home. Walking inside there are tables in what would be the living room with a small but seemingly well equipped bar with a great selection of ales and ciders. The garden is lovely but alas, no children's playing equipment. It was a tranquil garden with lots of flowers in blossom and an apple tree (June 23) It is a lovely quiet location, a few minutes from Nailsea. You can hear the noise of farm animals and the garden is a bit of a suntrap. I can certainly see myself going to this little gem of a public house again. But perhaps without the children next time. I could see there were what appeared to be home made or authentic style pies, pasties and sausage rolls for sale at the bar. But I didn't inquire about a meal menu. During my visit I didn't see anyone else having a meal, so I can only assume there is no meal option. But what a lovely place

Best pub in the area by far - proper beer, great food (although could do with a bit more choice for veggies) and fabulous beer garden! Also the friendliest staff! Wish they'd open more often is the only thing :)

Great country pub, old style, clean, friendly, and when food is available is very good.
